Tectonica Australia Pty Ltd is proud to announce it will demonstrate operation of UltraCell’s award winning XX25™ and XX55™ reformed methanol fuel cells at the upcoming Land Warfare Conference 2010.

This is the first time UltraCell’s products will be demonstrated in Australia, providing conference delegates with an exciting opportunity to view the latest advances in portable power solutions. In combination with the Smart Power Management System and Portable Charging Station, Tectonica provides defence users with efficient, lightweight and portable power solutions for dismounted operations.

The Smart Power Management System, developed under the Capability and Technology Demonstrator Program reduces power mass and provides the combat soldier with the ability to monitor, control and share power via a centralised power distribution system, and unlike existing systems, it is designed to interface with legacy equipment.

The integration of these two technologies seeks to meet the White Paper 2009 objective to enhance the capabilities of the individual soldier in dismounted close combat by lightening the load, increasing mobility and enabling the soldier to operate for longer through enhanced sustainment methods.

Miles Partridge, Tectonica Managing Director said, “UltraCell is a global leader in fuel cell technology and this partnership builds upon Tectonica’s power solutions, representing a significant step forward in the development of an integrated power system.  In partnership with UltraCell, we are delivering on our commitment to enhance the capability of the Australian Defence Force.”UltraCell is a leading producer of fuel cell systems and has launched the industry’s only ultra-compact, rugged and portable fuel cell battery hybrid system.
