Tectonica Australia Pty Ltd and Thales Australia have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a collaborative research and development partnership in the field of soldier systems.
Under the MOU, Tectonica and Thales seek to develop technologies that will enable in-service and emerging solider equipment to be integrated into future soldier combat systems.
This partnership brings together Tectonica's innovative, open architecture Smart Power Management System with Thales' leading-edge communications and weapons technology and extensive soldier systems experience.
The Smart Power Management System, developed under the Capability and Technology Demonstrator Program, provides the combat soldier with the ability to monitor, control and share power resources, and unlike existing systems it is designed to interface with legacy equipment.
This improved power management capability reduces weight and increases redundancy, leading to improve mobility, survivability, sustainability and lethality.
